Are you looking to hone your writing skills or learn a completely different writing skill set? Benson Theatre will launch a new writer’s workshop series beginning Monday, April 23. The workshop – the first of eight – will be held from 6:00 to 8:00pm at The B Side of Benson Theatre, 6058 Maple Street. All interested writers are invited to attend. Admission is a suggested donation of $5 at the door.
The series will be facilitated by Justin Holman, a writer and guerilla poet from Omaha. Holman graduates this May from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a major in English and a focus on language studies and pedagogy. He has been published in various literary magazines and has self-published in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nebraska and New Mexico.
The April 23 workshop will focus on using free writing to defeat writer’s block and the peer review process. The B Side Bar will be open for business, and proceeds from all sales benefit Benson Theatre.
