How Benson Theatre collects, uses, and protects the information you share with us.
Last updated: September 2026
Benson Theatre is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit theatre at 6054 Maple Street, Omaha, NE 68104. This page explains what we collect when you use bensontheatre.org, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Questions are welcome at [email protected].
Most of what we hold is what you typed. Volunteer applications ask for your name, email, phone number and whatever you tell us about how you'd like to help. The newsletter form asks only for an email address. If you email us, we keep the message so we can answer it.
You don't need an account to use this site, and we don't ask for one.
Like most websites, ours keeps standard server logs — the page requested, the time, the browser, and the IP address it came from. Our host uses them to keep the site up and to spot abuse.
The site also loads fonts and icons from Google, Adobe and Font Awesome, and map tiles from OpenStreetMap on the Parking and About pages. Those services see the IP address they're serving.
A banner from CookieYes handles your cookie choices, including a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link. Your choice is remembered in a cookie and you can change it any time from that banner.
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It runs in Google's Consent Mode and follows the choice you make in the banner. We do not run ads, and advertising signals stay switched off.
Tickets and donations are handled by Zeffy, on Zeffy's own forms embedded in our pages. Your card details go to Zeffy and its payment processor; they never touch our website, and we never see or store a full card number.
Zeffy passes us what we need to run the theatre — your name, email, and what you bought or gave. Zeffy's own privacy policy covers what it does with the rest.
If you sign up for the newsletter, your address is stored with our email provider (Mailchimp) and used to send theatre news — new shows, on-sale dates, and the occasional story. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and we act on it straight away.
We also send replies and confirmations when you contact us or apply to volunteer. Those aren't marketing, and they stop when the conversation does.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
We share it only with the services that make the theatre work — our website host, our ticketing and donation platform, our email provider, and our analytics — and only to the extent each needs it. We'll also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
We keep information for as long as it is useful for the purpose you gave it for: donation and ticket records for our financial and tax obligations, volunteer applications while the opportunity is open and for a reasonable period after, and newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe. Ask us to delete something sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
You can unsubscribe from email at any time, change your cookie choices from the banner, and ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email [email protected] and tell us what you'd like; we may ask a question or two to make sure we're talking to the right person.
If you are a California resident, you can also use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link. We don't sell personal information, so there is nothing for us to stop, but the choice is there.
This website is meant for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email [email protected] and we will remove it.
Our pages link out to ticketing, social media, partners and neighborhood organizations. Once you follow a link, you are on their site and their privacy policy applies, not ours.
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be called out on the site. Questions about any of it: [email protected], or write to us at 6054 Maple Street, Omaha, NE 68104.
