First Art on the Rocks Workshop April 17
BENSON – The Benson Theatre Project (BTP) is pleased to announce the launch of Art on the Rocks, a new monthly art workshop that’s open to anyone interested in exploring their creative skills.
The first installment is set for Wednesday, April 17, from 6:30 to 8:30pm at The B Side of Benson Theatre, 6058 Maple Street. Artist Kate Jobe will teach “Honoring Gaia: Drawing Mixed Media Mandelas.” The cost is $25 prepaid or $30 at the door. These prices include all materials and light snacks.
“This new series is a monthly gathering of artists, designers, makers and anyone interested in learning new techniques and skills,” said Shelby Audiss, BTP’s program director.
Each Art on the Rocks session will be led by a working artist who will teach an aspect of his or her creative process.
On April 17, Jobe will help participants explore and create a mixed media mandala that expresses their personal interconnectedness with the spirit of the Earth. Included in the workshop is a meditation to help participants access the personal symbolism they will incorporate into their mandalas. No previous art or mandala experience is needed.
All skill levels are welcome, and a full bar is available. To prepay for the April 17 workshop, contact Jobe at kjjobe@gmail.com.
