Benson Theatre is pleased to host the work of Katie B. Temple during May at the B Side of Benson Theatre, 6058 Maple Street. The opening reception is Friday, May 4, from 7:00 to 9:00pm.
Temple, an Omaha artist and educator, is the studio coordinator for the Kent Bellows Mentoring Program at Joslyn Art Museum. She earned her BFA from Bowling Green State University in 2010 and her MFA from Montana State University in 2013. Her work has been featured in various national exhibitions.
Locally, Temple has been included in the top 10 list of “Best Exhibitions of 2016 in Omaha” by The Reader for her Sense of Home solo exhibition at the Michael Phipps Gallery and was a nominee for Best Visual Emerging Artist for the 2017 Omaha Arts and Entertainment Awards (OEAA). In 2018, Temple was nominated for two OEAAs: Best Visual Emerging Artist and Best Presentation in a Non-Traditional Format for her duo-exhibition Dwellings at True Blue Goods.
Temple is one of six local artists who created an original work for Benson Theatre to benefit the capital campaign. This piece can be purchased for $260 and is on display at B Side.
