House of Afros, Capes & Curls Black Panther Premier Event featuring Kethro & Conrad Clifton

The House of Afros, Capes & Curls (HOACC) is a social organization whose goal is to connect people from diverse backgrounds and build a community based on a shared love of science fiction, fantasy, gaming and Afrofuturism. Through game nights, community events, our community blog and podcast, we share a safe space to explore our favorite hobbies and geek culture without ethnic boundaries. On Friday, February 16, 2018, Marvel Studios will release its movie, Black Panther. HOACC, in partnership with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Omaha Small Business Network, No More Empty Pots, Eastern Nebraska Community Action Partnership, local artists and community members, will host a movie premiere event that provides a place to embrace and celebrate the Black Culture represented in this film. The timing of this movie release provides a great opportunity to reinforce the importance of diversity, representation, and resiliency in Omaha. The premier night closes with NY DJ and native Omahan Conrad Clifton, with a special house performance.
Doors at 11:00PM. Show until 1:00AM.
Open to the public, $10 at the door.
