Fundraising Goal: $10,000 The Benson Film Festival unites filmmakers, artists, businesses, and audiences to create an immersive celebration of culture, connection, and community in the heart of the Benson Creative District. Through local partnerships and curated programming, we foster meaningful connections and community engagement, strengthening the creative and economic vitality of the neighborhood. Simply put: we love film, art, and community and we want to share it with you.

Our selection committee is comprised of local filmmakers, artists, arts administrators, and community leaders. This committee judges roughly 100 submissions each year to recommend the films that best align with our festival. Festival programming typically features approximately 30 films from local, national, and international filmmakers.

In partnering with the Benson Theatre, the Benson Film Festival showcases the historic venue and the community it supports. We share a mission of community connection and creating meaningful experiences through art. Since partnering with the Benson Theatre in 2023, each edition of the festival has welcomed out-of-state filmmakers to the Benson Creative District. Visitors have traveled to Omaha from filmmaking hubs such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Toronto to attend our festival.

The Benson Film Festival is entirely volunteer-run. We thank the passionate folks who continue to give up their time and energy to bring the festival to life each year.
