The opening reception for “The Future Is Fiction” from the Nasty Artist Collective runs from 6:00 to 9:00pm. The event is free and open to the public.
Inspired by Adrienne Maree Brown’s Emergent Strategy, this show explores the idea that all social justice is, in fact, science fiction. It creates a space for artists and the community to experiment, push the boundaries, test out ideas, make mistakes and ultimately imagine what their community should be. The show runs through July 31 at B Side.
Following the reception, stick around for live music by The SuperBytes, Ojai, and Ryan Menchaca and The Invisible Horses. Admission is $5 at the door.
See you on Maple Street!
