An Evening with Marcy Yates Oct. 13
BENSON – Verse Inc. is pleased to present an evening with Marcey Yates at The B Side of Benson Theatre Saturday, Oct. 13.
The show, also featuring cellist Maurisa Mansaray and violinist Heather Horst, begins at 8:00pm. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased online at www.verseinc.org.
Yates, aka Op2mus, is a rapper, spoken word artist, music prouder and businessman. He graduated from The Conservative School of Recording Arts and Sciences in Arizona.
With a sound that can be described as expressive vinyl hip hop, Yates partially attributes his soulful vibe and samplebased production to his influences, including classics like Slum Village, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Pete Rock, Kanye West and J Dilla. As both an emcee and producer, Yates collaborates with others in a variety of capacities.
