BENSON – The art of Kate Jobe is on display at The B Side of Benson Theatre, 6058 Maple Street, during the month of April.
The opening reception for Realms of Gaia was held April 5. Jobe’s exhibition explores the expansiveness of the world around us.
“Ten years ago I became engrossed in exploring the possibilities of using electronic applications to create mandalas that appeared to capture a timeless quality,” Jobe explains. “When enlarged, these mandalas often appear to be hand drawn or painted and can even have the appearance of woodcuts. Their impact is the most profound when observed at a distance. Regardless of what I see in their imagery, however they ‘speak’ to the viewer is the emotional, spiritual and visual relationship that is true for them. Gaia is life, the very soul of the earth.”
Jobe will also teach the Benson Theatre Project’s first Art on the Rocks workshop April 17 from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Click here for more information.
