BluesEd is a nonprofit youth artist development program sponsored by the Blues Society of Omaha. Its mission: “Keeping the Blues Alive.” Through a series of workshops, BluesEd students learn a repertoire of blues music, along with learning the art of improvisation and solos; the methodology of rehearsals; techniques of jamming, stage presence and performance; and the historical origins of the blues genre. The program provides students with opportunities to perform at some of the finest festivals and venues in and around Omaha.
BluesEd plans to use the Benson Theatre for youth performances, workshops, clinics and fund-raising events. For more information, visit www.bluesed.com.
